100 Years of Strong Women Shaping the Future

DAB - Anniversary Celebration in Berlin | University Women Europe (UWE) - "Meet & Greet" 2026

Eine deutsche Version dieser Seite finden Sie hier.

On June 26, 2026, the German Association of University Women - DAB (Deutscher Akademikerinnen Bund) celebrates the centenary of its founding. Among the founding members are Marie-Elisabeth Lüders and Agnes von Zahn-Harnack. Prominent figures, now considered outstanding representatives of science, were already members of the association at that time, including Dr. Lise Meitner and Dr. Elisabeth Selbert, who successfully championed the wording of Article 3 of the Basic Law, as well as many other female scientists. Just as women fought for access to universities over 100 years ago, today they also occupy top positions in science, business, and politics.

We will celebrate this anniversary in Berlin with a two-day symposium, together with prominent contemporary women, and take a look at the history of our association and the historical women's movement. There will also be ample time for networking and excursions in the German capital, Berlin.

We look forward to your participation!
